When one of the EMEA region’s largest financial services firms went through an acquisition and mergers process, employees from different organisations needed to be brought together under a single brand. The merger would significantly change ways of working for everyone, and required a sensitive and phased approach, focusing on individual opportunities and future prospects, whilst at the same time communicating potentially negative outcomes.
The solution
Engage drew on our full arsenal of change capabilities for this project, kicking off with a detailed change readiness survey across all departments, which provided powerful insights into key employee concerns. Having worked with the leadership team to articulate a clear and compelling vision for the future, we developed a unique campaign identity and an illustrated change map, outlining the most important elements of the process.
In addition, we equipped middle management with comprehensive change toolkits, and created a change ambassador program with representatives from each business unit. By focusing not only on informational, but also on emotional outcomes, we were able to positively influence attitudes and behaviours, and truly involve employees in shaping the new culture and brand identity.
